Introduction 🌟
HealthBeats is a health technology company offering a Remote Vitals Monitoring (RVM) platform for hospitals and clinics. The platform enables healthcare providers to remotely monitor patients’ vital signs, supporting proactive and continuous care from the comfort of the patients’ homes.
Background
This module was designed to give more flexibility for managing enrolled programs. Users who are already signed up for a base program can add extra features or services (add-ons) after enrolment. This ensures that both users and administrators have more control and a smoother experience when managing programs over time.
My Role 👩🏻‍💻
Focused on creating a seamless experience for healthcare providers, ensuring the module was easy to navigate while supporting program management needs.
Delivered the end-to-end web app experience for the Post-Enrolment module in just 3 months, balancing speed with usability and accuracy.
Impact 🚀
Patients: Can effortlessly add services or features to their existing programs, giving them greater flexibility and control over their care.
Healthcare Providers: Can quickly identify patients with add-on programs and clearly distinguishing between base and added services for more efficient care management.
User Feedback: Patients appreciated the increased flexibility, while providers valued the improved visibility, resulting in higher engagement and smoother workflows.
The Brief
Patients enrolled in HealthBeats programs occasionally require additional services or features on top of their existing plans. At the same time, healthcare providers need clear visibility into which patients have these add-ons and how they relate to the base program.
The goal of this project was to design a web app experience that allows patients to seamlessly add services after enrolment, while providing providers with an intuitive interface to track, manage and differentiate between base and add-on programs.
Where Users Struggled 😕
Our review of the existing post-enrolment process highlighted key pain points:
Provider confusion: Without clear indicators, healthcare providers had difficulty identifying patients with add-on services.
Inefficient tracking: Differentiating between base and add-on programs was cumbersome, leading to errors and increased administrative workload.
What We Learned from Others 🧠
To guide our design, we examined how other health and subscription-based platforms manage post-enrolment programs and add-on services.

Learning from other platforms to shape our post-enrolment experience.

Key insights included:
Visual differentiation: Base programs and add-ons are clearly distinguished, enabling providers to identify each at a glance.
Logical workflows: Actions such as adding a service or reviewing program status follow an intuitive, step-by-step process.
Efficient navigation: The interface is responsive and easy to navigate, helping providers manage programs quickly and accurately.
Outcome 🎉
The redesigned Post-Enrolment module enabled healthcare providers to manage programs more clearly and efficiently. Providers can quickly identify patients with add-on services, distinguish them from base programs and manage workflows with ease. This has reduced administrative effort, minimised errors and improved overall clarity in program management.
Key Takeaways 📚
This project reminded me how much clarity and efficiency matter when designing for healthcare providers. By focusing on visual cues and logical workflows, I learned how small design decisions can make a big impact on usability and accuracy. It also emphasised the importance of considering both provider and patient perspectives in post-enrolment management.
